I really like this quote! It is amazing how much kids pick up from adults. It is even more surprising how our kids learn to pick up our bad habits first! I read somewhere that children's personalities are fully developed by first grade! This puts a bigger responsibility on us as Early Childhood Professionals!
Great quote LaWanda! It is SO true that children do what they see. I heard someone say that we need to BE the change we want to see in the world. This is especially true when it comes to being role models for children. If we want the next generation to be different, we must lead by example.
That's so funny, jlk19! I chose that exact quote from Gandhi as one of my favorites! "You need to be the change that you want to see in the world." We sometimes forget that little eyes are watching our every move all the time. I am constantly reminding myself that everything I do influences my students' future decisions, and I need to be conscious of this at all times in order to shape positive citizens for our world.

ReplyDeleteChildren learn by examples. We model what we want them to become , so we need to be careful of what we do when they are around us.

I love this quote and I would have to agree. Children are going to follow us and we should give them positive things to follow.
